July 14 - Day 9

We made it to Alaska today!

The last part of the Alaska Highway in the Yukon was slow going. The road is built on permafrost, and it is a nightmare of pot holes, cracked and broken pavement, and generally rough road.

We crossed through U.S. Customs at noon -- 4743 miles from our driveway in Campton.

We are in Delta Junction right now. Fairbanks, the end of the Alcan Highway, is about 98 miles away. We will be there in the morning.

No time for any photos tonight. We need to find a place to camp.
